Western Red Cedar

Deep, warm and richness in texture. In our posts and timbers, the heart centre spec is minimal, while all items are sawn for four square, making them both optimal.

prized for tight, straight grains and valued for it's resistance to decay

Alaska Yellow Cedar

A high elevation species that only grows in the rarefied air of the Pacific North West. Its tight grain, consistency of color, and rot resistance properties have made it revered in Japan for decades often being proudly displayed in the finest homes. Still to this day prime yellow cedar logs are hand selected, and carefully sawn for the oldest temples in Japan.
Buddha would be proud.

Cupressus nootkatensis

common name: yellow cedar, Nootka cedar
distribution: widespread along the west coast of north America and inland British Columbia, Washington and Oregon.
prized for it's dimensional stability, weather, insect and rot resistance.

What we do

All our items are fine grain coastal production.

We’ve learned to manage the front end of both the log mix and sawing, while the back end never changes. With this our consistency of sizing, grade, color and texture never changes, ever. Just like cubes of butter. A unit purchased a decade ago will look exactly like a unit purchased today. Well manufactured and well graded coastal production.
